The Otley Vintage Transport Extravaganza event which normally takes place in September will not be going ahead this year.

Nigel Francis - Chairman of the Otley Vintage Transport Extravaganza has issued a statement regarding this years show.

1934 - 2023

Colin Pitt

The well known garage proprietor and Vintage Vehicle restorer Colin Pitt has passed away on Thursday 14th September 2023 at the age of 88.

He was the main sponsor of the Otley Vintage Transport Extravaganza for over 20 years and did not only just help us store the equipment for the event, but contributed by paying the rent for the fields, transporting equipment down to the event and coming to help on the day.

His red and green wagons were always the first vintage vehicles on the field and always the last ones off on Sunday night.

Had it not been for his help and support with the O.V.T.E. it would not have gone on so long and raised so much money for deserving causes.

Below is a reprint of the article 'The End of The Road, The Passing of an Era' from our 2019 programme marking his retirement.

One Final Thing...

ALL of our stewards on the field and in the car parks are volunteers who have given up their time to help make the O.V.T.E. a great family day out. Our staff have the right to do their duty without being verbally abused, therefore, we operate a strict zero tolerance policy for all our staff. If anyone behaves in an unacceptable manor towards our staff, they will be asked to leave the field.
